SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEER - KORTRIGHT CENTRE FOR CONSERVATION

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Working in an outdoor setting, the Summer Camp Volunteer will help in the delivery of our Summer Nature Day Camps. Our camps run for children ages 4 to 11 and our activities include live animal shows, lunch cook outs, and outdoor summer fun! Tasks may vary depending on the applicant’s interests and strengths.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • An interest in working outside and an interest working with children;
  • Past experience or interest in environmental camp programs is an asset.

SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS:

  1. Fire building and fire tending;
  2. Organizing materials, helping with crafts and games, and assisting staff in program delivery.

Training date: Will be provided before camp begins.

Dress Code: Casual. Be prepared to be outside (hats, running shoes, etc.)

Hours per week: Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (for one week)

Please note: volunteers less than 18 years of age require parental or guardian consent to participate in this program. Spaces are limited to specific high schools based on funding.
